Jurgens, Allan August “Big Al”

Passed away peacefully with his wife at his side, after a short battle with cancer, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, Sask. on Thursday, April 11th, 2019. Born on November 27, 1954, he was 64. Beloved and devoted husband to Victoria Jurgens for over 44 years. Loving father to Shawna, Scott (Dawn Schroeder), and Tyler (Jarilyn Malaluan). Cherished grandfather of Cecily, Everett, Jasmine, and Charles. Allan will be missed by his sister Darlene (Gordon) Cash, his brothers Ronald (Jennifer Low), Larry (Lynda Onischak), Arthur (Paulette Lacoursierre), and Robert (Georgina Melenka), his mother-in-law Marian Froess (nee Kowalsky), his brothers-in-law Kevin (Yolande Visser), Leon (Christine Rodych), Daryl, Trevor (Norma), Travis (Sharon Shukin), and Curt (Jennifer Studer), and his sisters-in-law Valerie (Delbert) Kirsch, Janine Froess (Garnet Burkhart), and Sherry Froess (Brent Nadon). Also loved by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Allan was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Catherine (Wehage), as well as his sister-in-law, Lorra Froess (birth name Lafonde; adopted name Taylor). Allan was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with family and helping them with their building projects.  From fences to basements to pirate ships, Allan was always ready to lend a hand if it meant spending time with his children and grandchildren. He took pleasure in spending time outdoors, loved animals and was proud to be from Saskatchewan. Above all else, he wanted to see those around him happy. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at 1:30pm at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish, 260 25th St. E., Prince Albert, Sask. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Victoria Hospital Foundation for the purchase of equipment for the palliative care ward can be made at www.helpthevic.ca and would be greatly appreciated by the family.

“Nothing is better than going home to family and eating good food and relaxing.”
