It is with great sorrow that the family announce Carol “Lynn” Van Driessche (nee Brass) passed away on July 24, 2019 in Saskatoon, SK at the age of 55.
Carol “Lynn” was born on January 15, 1964 to Wilfred “Ronald” and Cicely Brass in Prince Albert, SK. She attended Osbourne Elementary School, Wesmor Junior High School and Carlton High School. In her younger years, Lynn enjoyed broomball and baseball. She was very active with the Army Cadets. Lynn joined the Militia in 1981 to 1985 and the Military from 1985 – 1994. She worked as a Communications Teletype Operator. Her career took her to many locations in Canada. Lynn was awarded the United Nations Peacekeeping Service Medal in Cypress, the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal and Canadian Decoration.
Lynn worked as a postal clerk in Shilo, MB where she met and married Peter Van Driessche on April 16, 1987.
Lynn is lovingly remembered by her: husband Peter Van Driessche; mother Cicely Brass; sisters Sharon Bear, Charlene (James) Martell, Patricia (Randy) Isbister, Glenda Brass; brothers Barry (Lisa) Brass, Hector Brass, Brian (Shannon) Brass, Vince ( Amber) Brass, Sterling Brass; sister-in-law Karen Van Driessche; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and pets.
Lynn was predeceased by her father Wilfred “Ronald” Brass; grandparents Leonard and Princess Maude Bear, Rhoda and Sam Bear; grandfather William Dumont.
Wake Service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with both services being held at the Muskoday Band Hall. Interment will be held at the St. James Anglican Cemetery, Muskoday First Nation.
