Theresa Brassard

December 25, 1926 ~ April 28, 2018 (age 91)

Theresa was the middle child of 9 children born to Lawrence and Clara McLachlan.   She was first raised in the town of Mayberry, SK and later moved to Foxford, SK with her family.  She signed up for the army and was trained to be an ambulance driver.  After the war, she went to work at Waskesiu Lake in the family business.  In the fall of 1945, at a dance in Albertville, she met her husband of 66 years, Edward Brassard.  They were married the following October and had 6 children.  The couple moved to Prince Albert in 1950 and settled down in their first of only two homes.  It was in 1964, that she finally got her dream house. This house had running water, gas heat, washer and dryer, and the best thing yet, an electric stove.  After the kids got older and some moved out, she went to work at North Park Center, where she worked as an aide.  After it closed she started doing sewing for many people in the city.  She was a very busy mother raising us kids.  She would keep us clean and fed to the best of her ability.  She made home-baked bread every third day on her old wood stove, as we would eat about half of the eight loaves that she made the first day and finish the rest in the next two days.  She was a great gardener and always had her garden in just after the full moon of May.  Theresa was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion.  She and dad would always decorate their home with a flag and had the driveway painted with the Canadian flag every Remembrance Day.

Theresa is survived by her 6 children, 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.  daughters: Linda Brassard of Prince Albert; Yvonne (Brian) Alexander of Winnipeg; their children: Renee & Keith Garrison (Nolh & Gracie) of Prince Albert; Tammy & Ryan Aiken (Jenna & Nickolas) of Meath Park; Jacqueline Gobeil (Emilie & Olivia) of Prince Albert; Christena & Adam Konrad (Robyn & Lincoln) of Saskatoon; Lizanne & Jonas Moffatt of Prince Albert; sons: Joseph (Linda) Brassard of Prince Albert; Arthur (Debbie) Brassard of Emma Lake; their children: Joeleene & Neil Pullan (Abbigale, Edward, Genevieve, Donald) of Medicine Hat, AB; Joey & Kerri Brassard (Joshua, Brandon, Katie) of Prince Albert; Douglas (Lorraine) Brassard of Prince Albert; their children: Shannon Brassard & Keith Durie of Ardmore AB; Brent Brassard (Brynn, Bauer) of Boyle AB; Lawrence & Tracy Brassard of Regina; their children: Danniel Brassard (Shayne, Chloe) of Saskatoon; Crystal Bjornson of Regina; and two sisters–in–law: Myrtle McLachan & Genevieve Sherle.
